Does God need REST??

Brian Lara : Sachin Tendulkar was a peerless batsman with a lot more to offer. Lara, Test cricket's leading scorer with 11,294 runs, regarded Tendulkar the best batsman he ever watched despite the prolific success of Australian captain Ricky Ponting and South African Jacques Kallis. Lara said: "For me, the best batsman in the world is Sachin Tendulkar. I admire Jacques Kallis' consistency and Ricky Ponting, with the purple patch he's going though. Everybody gets 15 minutes of fame. But if there's one person I've admired over a 15-year period, it's definitely Sachin."

Dhoni on the Sachin's Retirement : "When you talk about a temple there has to be mention of God, just like when you talk of cricket you have to talk of Sachin Tendulkar."

The finest compliment must be that bookmakers would not fix the odds - or a game - until Tendulkar was out.

Earlier this year Sachin was being put down as an ageing liability, now many are saying that he has at least two years left in him.

The retirement debate peaked in March this year right after India's disastrous exit at the World Cup that prompted former Australian captain Ian Chappell to come out and say undesirable, harsh statements about sachin.

He said Sachin was playing for all the wrong reasons and should consider quitting.

Chappell said in a column that if Sachin were to look in a mirror and asked the question;" Mirror, mirror on the wall should I retire?" The answer would be; "Yes."

Sanjay Manjrekar accused Sachin of being afraid of failure and therefore choosing to stay out of competitions even when he was actually fit to play.

Over the past couple of years even the fans have been equally changing their opinions about sachin, when it comes to their beloved Sachin.

"Well I think if I can score 90 in most of the games and the team wins I will be very happy. It's not all about scoring 100's although I would like too but if I can get 90 and the team wins I will be very happy," said Tendulkar.

On Wednesday, it was like the Tendulkar of the old, batting like a man reborn, looking to answer his critics time and time again not with the words but with the bat. The way he bats these days tells us that he is enjoying each and every moment in cricket. Not bothered about centuries, he was freely moving his feet like what he used to do in 90s and early 2000s. He has been in a great form throught this natwest series. The one incident that made me feel happy is when he was given out at 99, he had a small chuckle on his face while walking back to the pavillion. That tells us he's not gonna worry about future records which he has had enough of them where others can only dream of.

I felt very sad when i read the news or rumours about sachin retiring ODI's. We should leave this decision to sachin whether he wants to quit or not. But he has given even more than what INDIA could've asked for. So, we cant just debate among ourselves about the GODS decision. I am sure he's well aware of his responsiblities and whats expected by all cricket lovers from him. All the good things will come to an end at sometime or the other, but that day will be a sad day in cricket history when he quits ODI. I think each and every cricket lover will shed their tears because they'll never be able to see a batsman who has been playing for almost two decades and still he's a terror for all the teams around the world. There will be no another Sachin Tendulkar in this game. None can replace him. I grew up looking at him and he has been a role model for every Indian kid out there who starts playing cricket. Its not so easy to giveup anything which we have been attached since 18 years. I am glad to hear that sachin is not retiring in ODIs, in fact INDIA need Sachin in ODIs. I dont give a damn about what critics feel about these comments.

Finally we Sachin Lovers wish that he must play till 2011 world cup, All Indians are very desperate to see 2011 WorldCup in the hands of Little Champion.

Come on Sachin !! Give INDIA 2011 WORLDCUP. We support you, in all your ups and downs.

The whole nation of INDIA want to say only one thing
"Sachin, You have made us feel proud"
